Join us on a journey of exploration into the dramatic sacred and secular music of renaissance Spain: Latin motets, songs in Spanish for the church and theater in the time of Cervantes, and a spectacular Kyrie and Gloria by Tomás Luis de Victoria based on the theme of Clement Jannequin’s famous chanson “La Guerre,” which celebrated the French victory at Marignon in 1515.

An ensemble of ministriles will play instrumental solos and accompany the singers on vihuela, guitar, viola da gamba, trombones and organ.
