The ensemble takes its name and inspiration from Dava Sobel’s Galileo’s Daughter. Their program features readings and images illustrating the complementary relationship of science and music of the time, with works by Galileo’s father Vincenzo, a composer, lutenist and theorist, and by Claudio Monteverdi, Francesco da Milano, Giulio Caccini and others.
